Andy Woodard
At the moment I’m very busy working with Freshman (www.freshmanband.com), in which I get to play some really loud grooves and fill like Joey Jordison (well almost!). We are in the process of recording two new EPs at two different studios in London, and I used my new Orion 6 piece for both and I tell you, the drums sound massive!!

About Andy Woodard
At the moment I’m very busy working with Freshman (www.freshmanband.com), in which I get to play some really loud grooves and fill like Joey Jordison (well almost!). We are in the process of recording two new EPs at two different studios in London, and I used my new Orion 6 piece for both and I tell you, the drums sound massive!!
We play all across the South East of England at various theatres, bars, pubs and clubs and have been building up a pretty big following both at gigs and through our websites: www.freshmanband.com and www.myspace.com/freshmanband
And of course, where would every rock drummer be without his or her jazz side-project? Mine is the Brian Foster Trio (www.brianfostertrio.com), a melodious jazz-fusion band, where we “experiment” in rehearsals, playing odd-times and odd-feels. With only a small line-up and a huge blank canvas we get to create some really dynamic and colourful tunes.
I teach Drumsense (www.drumsense.com) in Surrey and Kent, and would thoroughly recommend anyone interested in teaching to follow the Drumsense route. With the support of other teachers and its founder Colin Woolway, you are really challenged to make yourself a better teacher and player. I’ve been teaching students of all ages and abilities for the last 9 years, and last year had been given the pleasure of developing some great players into teachers.
I also run workshops with the Institute of Modern Music around the South East involving all calibres of musicians so please check out www.instituteofmusic.com and get involved! Through the Drumsense project we hope to raise the standard of all drum teaching and produce even better players.
